I've initialized the Wiki page for the centennaire Esch (mostly
copy-pasted from the LinuxFest page, minus the stuff that's not
applicable, plus the stuff that was in the mails)
http://www.lilux.lu/wiki/index.php/CentennaireEsch
Please have a look at it, and complete/correct the information if needed.
Also, remember to register as a volunteer. Indeed, I myself can only be
there on Saturday 21st, as on Sunday 22nd I'm leaving for a business
trip in the early afternoon.
Regards,
Alain
Hi,
at the Journee du Libre 2006, on the evening of octobre 25th,
there will be a round table about the link between FOSS and
security.
A representative of LiLux would be nice to have on that
round table.
Does anyone feel up to the subject?
I have no confirmation as yet on the language that will be
used for the round table, but I strongly suspect it will be
in french.
If anyone's interested, please let me know, I'll pass on
the information to the organisors.
Greetings, Eric

Hi,
Looks like there's a CMS Award contest...
Check : <http://www.packtpub.com/cms_award_final_five> and vote
As I'm personally looking for a CMS for 2 of my websites, I'm curious
about the result...
and I'm also curious as to which CMS _YOU_ prefer...
and for what reason...

Hi,
according to Heise News (sorry, in german) here:
http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/77998
the next round in software patents is coming in
form of the EPLA, European Patent Litigation
Agreement.
This would create a cross-EU court on patent
stuff, which would codify the years-old practice
of the EPA of giving out software patents.
Greetings, Eric

Yes, that's the one...

Rest assured, I'm not misleading nor misunderstanding...
The conference's name/title is "S'il te plaît... dessine moi un pirate
informatique !"... so they're using the word _pirate_ !
I simply object to a misleading point of vocabulary and am trying to
make sure people stop confusing ("white hat") hackers and "black hat"
hackers and copyright violators.
As the conference notice says...
"Escroqueries, espionnage, spamming, abus de confiance... Les
différentes formes de délinquance informatique sont devenues une réalité
indéniable."
as well as
"caractériser précisément les différents types de "hackers" et les
menaces qu'ils représentent."

That was what I was counting on (asking ;) you to do...
I'm not sure yet whether I can attend, I'd like to but the day/time
might not work with my schedule.

Hello all,
Did you see this in the latest issue of the "La sélection" P&T Lux
newspaper distributed to all households ?
Anybody interested in starting the same case here based on the european
legislation, of course?
