I'd say that's actually the point...
1) Make a deal with SuSE/Novell not to claim Patent infrigement for
Novell/SuSE clients
2) said deal is _limited in time_ (end in 2012 if memory serves)
[*) buy some Novell shares]
3) sue non-Novell clients for patent infrigement
What's to gain ?
Mostly
- the (hope for) recognition that FOSS violates MS and other patents...
- recognition of Software Patents
I'd say a clear proof that SW Patents are like landmines... you never
know when they'll explode !
