Hi,
Thanks to everyone who answered and also those who answered in private.
I'll try to recap the answers in case someone in interested.
Kopete : is a KDE
client(http://www.kopete.org/) looks nice and simple
so far to me, but I've only used it for 2 hours yet.
Gaim :
http://gaim.sourceforge.net/ is a Gnome client (15 minutes usage
so far)
PSI :
http://psi.affinix.com/, a Jabber client which is cross-platform
(QT) and interoperates with AOL, Yahoo, MSN, etc
Gabber : tbc
Jabber : tbc
GnomeCU : tbc
All the clients who were suggested to me apparently "talk" nicely with
ICQ, Yahoo Msgr, MSN Msgr, IRC, Jabber and more.
I havent tried them all (yet) but I suspect the end decision is on how
one personally feels about the GUI of the different candidates and
perhaps whether one prefers KDE or Gnome.
Thanks again
Serge
