hi all,
thnx to the discussion about coditel, i found out how much they start to s***.
they sent me a bill a week ago that they were counting traffic, already for
the past 3 months, and they would bill me now for that traffic.
allthough i never received any notice from them stating they would count it.
and for 2gb over limit they charge 10€.
wow.
thinking about changing my isp again, soon.
what dsl providers are good in lux?
i read some about alternet?

Very fair ! Admirable commercial practice...
and for 2gb over limit they charge 10€.

CrossComm proposes a ADSL Internet access @ 1 Mb/s for 25 €/month, but
*only the first 200 MB are free* (yes, 0,2 GB only !). This way, you can
sent 8000 e-mails a month, they claim ! I hope it's a mistake or a joke,
but I'm affraid not...

I confirm Alternet ADSL Internet access is good value for your money, is
-as far as I know and for the time being- the cheapeast flat-rate ADSL
service available (about) everywhere in Luxembourg. The time-limited
offer is still on-line on their web site:
_http://www.alternet.lu/promotions.htm_
Internet access @1Mb/s, no download limit, including ADSL connection is
at 29.90 €/month. Only warning: the contract is for 12 months minimum.
The www.dsl4you.lu offer is the same. They are just resellers of Alternet.

Did they changed their conditions ? I hope so, but too late. I hate them
for that. And their rates are above the rates I quoted from Alternet.
Also, VO is related to EPT, where Alternet is using a separate backbone
and is installing their own DSLAMs (ADSL concentrators) progressively,
so they are NOT PLANNED to keep business with EPT, which sounds nice to
me as well.

If you read one of my earlier posts, my problem proved *not* to be
related to their DNS, but rather to a failing Powerline adapter.
i was a customer of them.
if there are alternatives, i would prefer not to go with vo

I've been a customer for something like 7 or 8 years now. I have never
read their conditions, but I can tell for sure that it works well with
Linux. "It" being their website, email + webmail, internet access,
whatever I have done until now.

Welcome to the club
I'm definitely going to switch. Alternet seems to be the best choice
for the moment. It's almost ironic, I haven't even been a Coditel
customer for a full year...
bad news for them, but I'll give them details :)

It is in your contract: you have 10GB/month included, so they are
supposed to count it! If they don't, nice for you, if they do, they are
totally right.
and for 2gb over limit they charge 10€.

Even for less than that they charge 10€! (And they charge 10€ for every
10GB)
BTW: it seem that their counter is updated once a day on their web-site

the traffic and as soon as they would find out how to do that, they would
notice everybody.
well they didn't!
contract or not... that are unfair practices IMO.
and i expect something different from an ISP, sorry, but that's my opinion.
