Hello,
I've installed Oracle express version 10 under Suse 10.1 and once done, I gave 8080
as port to use for Application, but once listener starts I fail to connect on
http://127.0.0.1:8080 (assuming server is local); in fact,
ping 127.0.0.1 give correct echo but 127.0.0.1 is not recognized as
netstat -a|grep 8080 gives nothing and connection for
telnet 127.0.0.1 8080 is refused
Anybody knows how to repai that??

Hi,
is the web-console started via
emctl start dbconsole
?
I've got it on port 1158 myself, as I need 8080 for another
service.
Not sur though if this "enterprise manager" is present in
the Oracle XE version.

Thank you for you reply, no I don't use emctl (as this utility isn't installed
on my machine), well you're right, I just have to use another port.
Another problem: actually I'm trying to install oracle on a 64b machine, but I saw
some stuff on web-site to inform that oracle10 isn't certified under linux64;
installation runs perfectly but I'm failing to connect under sqlplus with SYS user
because a shared library libaio.so.1 is not found (present however uder /usr/lib64 and
correctly set on $LD_LIBRARY_PATH)
Did anybody successfully installed and run oracle10 under Linux64?
