[Lilux-help] USB Memory Stick under SuSE 9.2 on Acer Laptop

Hi there!

I've got the following configuration: Acer Travelmate 540 Laptop (P4)
running SuSE 9.2. Sometimes, to transfer data, I connect an USB Memory
Stick (TwinMOS Mobile Disk IV USB 2.0 256MB / M23), which is always
detected as a USB storage devie. When copying files to the local HDD,
Linux freezes completely immediately after the copy/ies finished. Mouse,
keyboard don't react anymore, if switching to another console via
Ctrl-Alt-F1,F2,...  or Ctrl-Alt-Del to shutdown doesn't work anymore. I
have to switch off the PC! Has anyone got a clue where this problem may
come from and how to resolve it?
