[Lilux-help] DVDRAM

Hello

I have trouble with DVDRAM on LG GSA 4081B.

I use SuSE9.1, and when I try to format the dvdram with 
dvd+rw-format -blank /dev/dvdram
the system gives mke the answer:
* DVDRW format utility by <appro at fy.chalmers.se>, version 4.8.
:-( mounted media doesn't appear to be DVDRW

but the DVD is a DVDRAM. k3b also reports that it is a DVD-RAM, but asks for a 
rewritable media.

I don't understand, why this happens. Even if I use the force option, it 
doesn't work. 

Any idea?
