Actually without some more information on what system, or especially
kernel you are using, it is impossible to answer this question without
guessing.

But yes /in general/ it is possible.

Under 2.4.26 write support is still experimental and therefor I wouldn't
use it, unless you are really sure of what you are doing.
Under 2.6.6 r/w support for ntfs partitions shouldn't be a real problem.
Just enable it in your config.
