I can not reproduce this problem on debian/unstable running kmenuedit 
0.6... I must admit that I have no clue where these entries are stored, 
at least I could not find the one I added (test123) in my filesystem...

Maybe you can try to upgrade your Suse to the brandnew KDE3.3 and see if 
you still have the problem..., this thread discribes how you can do it:
